It's a great pleasure to welcome Joel Kotkin, presidential fellow in the Urban Futures at Chapman University, the senior research fellow at the Civitas Institute, University of Texas at Austin.
California is underway with a political voice that is outsized of any state, a former vice president who is entertaining, running for president. A governor who is entertaining to running for president. A mayor looking for reelection despite the troubles of Los Angeles and likely to gain the seat again. And then comes the gubernatorial race.
I do not live in California, but I report on it as best I can, given that I'm way on the other side of the continent, as I understand the melodrama around a very well known Congressman Swalwell has now ended with Swalwell walking away from the gubernatorial race that he was said to be in the lead of.
