Earlier, I broadcasted correctly that the building inspector had shut down our wine bar because we had not met his standards—which is to say, we hadn’t given him enough money.
One of the institutions that America inherited from the Roman Empire was the regulatory body. We have them here in Rome, and they make us. The difference between us and the Gauls or the Parthians is that here, the building inspectors have more power than an emperor on location. So, we shut down the building. However, our tech engineer came forward to say, “You know, we can do it from the parking lot.” And we can. So, we are broadcasting Londinium Chronicles from the parking lot outside of our wine bar.
The Centurions have gathered around us. We only have a liter of wine here for all these Centurions, but we’ve decided we’re going to go with the New Testament version of having enough fish and bread for the multitude: we’re going to say everybody is going to share the wine. There is going to be plenty.
