The Path Forward for Venezuela

Professor Humberto Briceño León on the collapse of the Maduro government, the urgent need to restore the rule of law, and the struggle to reclaim the country from criminal organizations.

Humberto Briceño León is writing for Civitas Outlook at the Civitas Institute, University of Texas at Austin. He is a professor with wide experience in research and religious law at prestigious law schools in Venezuela, Europe, and the United States.

We're speaking directly, however, about his understanding of his native country, Venezuela. The professor's essay looks at what has happened to Venezuela, which is much in the news because of crime and what can be done given the Maduro regime. Before that, the regime and now the deaths emerge, and the Rodriguez regime in the palace in Caracas—remembering that there has been a double earthquake to strike Caracas in these last weeks.
